GEOTA is a Non Governmental Organization for Environment (ONGA) of national scope, with the statute of public utility, which has as mission the defense of the environment and the promotion of sustainable development, according to the aspects of education, information, professional training, reflection and political intervention, cooperation for the development and realization of actions for the resolution of specific environmental problems.



Project Description

Objectives:
- To develop a conservation woodland for the Monchique oak species (Quercus canariensis) in Monchique in a total intervention area of 20 hectares;
2. To develop a conservation woodland for the Monchique oak species (Quercus canariensis) in Monchique in a total intervention area of 20 hectares;
3. Implementation of ecological restoration actions for soil erosion control, selective bush control and rehabilitation of a stretch of water line;

4. Develop communication content for dissemination of the project including, but not limited to, videos, photographs, infographics, and/or social media posts.
Key Ecosystems
Distinct forest ecosystems of the Monchique Mountains, which constitute an Atlantic-like island surrounded by mediterranean ecosystems.
