Project Description

Objectives:

  1. To develop a conservation woodland for the Monchique oak species (Quercus canariensis) in Monchique in a total intervention area of 20 hectares;

3. Implementation of ecological restoration actions for soil erosion control, selective bush control and rehabilitation of a stretch of water line;

4. Develop communication content for dissemination of the project including, but not limited to, videos, photographs, infographics, and/or social media posts.

Key Ecosystems

Distinct forest ecosystems of the Monchique Mountains, which constitute an Atlantic-like island surrounded by mediterranean ecosystems.
